While COVID and the resulting lockdown was a source of anguish, I observed a new zeal in the hills and woods – kids flying kites, bikes whizzing past, families walking, jogging and enjoying picnics – a pleasant escape from isolation.

I was inspired when I met a small tree on Pentland hills that was shining brighter and inspiring others – including me.

This painting captures the autumnal mood – a transient instant in the everlasting cycle of gloom and hope. Oil paint along with plaster of Paris and dry pigment helps me create texture and depth.
